چکیده
The presence of potentially toxic elements (PTEs) in soils can upset the natural balance and increase risk PTE incorporation into food chain. use composite biochar with municipal sewage sludge compost (MSSC/C) be an effective way both managing waste, such as sludge, providing additive-supporting phytostabilization processes. effectiveness D. glomerata MSSC/C technique assisted industrially contaminated was determined under pot experiment conditions. contents soil were using spectrophotometric method. addition to PTE-contaminated contributed 18% plant biomass increased pH by 1.67 units, concentration being higher roots than above-ground parts glomerata. had strongest effect on reduction Cd, Cr, Ni following completion experiment. current study confirmed aiding processes soils.

Municipal Sewage Sludge Drying Treatment by an Composite Modifier
A sludge composite modifier SCM which comprises a mixture of three cementitious components was proposed for sludge drying and stabilization. Effect of SCM components on sludge moisture content was analyzed using uniform design and the optimum composition of SCM was determined by computer-aided modeling and optimization. To compare the drying effect of SCM, quicklime, and Portland cement, the ef...
متن کاملAdsorption and desorption of lead in Iranian acid and alkaline soils amended with sewage sludge-derived biochar
The effective management of sewage sludge materials in an environmentally and economically acceptable way is through the pyrolytic conversion of the sludge to biochar and its use for agricultural purposes. The aims of this work were: (1) to assess the effect of biochar prepared from sewage sludge at two different temperatures (350 ºC and 650 ºC) on the adsorption/desorptio...
متن کاملChanges the Concentration of Selected Pahs in Urban Soils Fertilized with Municipal Sewage Sludge
The aim of this study was to analyze changes in the content of selected polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in urban soils fertilized with municipal sewage sludge. The factors in the experiment were three lawns along the main roads in Bialystok (in Popieluszki, Hetmanska and Raginisa Strs.), doses of sewage sludge (0 – control; 75 and 150 Mg/ha) and two years of study (2011 and 2012). The s...
متن کاملEffects of Biochar-Derived Sewage Sludge on Heavy Metal Adsorption and Immobilization in Soils
The object of this study was to evaluate the effect of sewage sludge biochar on adsorption and mobility of Cr, Mn, Cu, and Zn. Biochar (BC400) was produced via pyrolysis of municipal sewage sludge at 400 °C. Maximum adsorption capacities (qm) for Zn, Cr, Mn, and Cu were 5.905, 5.724, 5.681, and 5.342 mg·g-1, respectively, in the mono-metal solution and 2.475, 8.204, 1.01, and 5.415 mg·g-1, resp...
متن کاملConcept of Aided Phytostabilization of Contaminated Soils in Postindustrial Areas
The experiment was carried out in order to evaluate the effects of trace element immobilizing soil amendments, i.e., chalcedonite, dolomite, halloysite, and diatomite on the chemical characteristics of soil contaminated with Cr and the uptake of metals by plants. The study utilized analysis of variance (ANOVA), principal component analysis (PCA) and Factor Analysis (FA). The content of trace el...
